Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Daily Brain Board is a local-first puzzle game. You can play without creating an account. Some optional features use cloud services when you choose to sign in.

2. Optional Cloud Backup & Sync

Signing in is optional. If you choose to use Cloud Backup & Sync, you can sign in with Google or Apple. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication and the sign-in provider. Daily Brain Board does not store or manage your passwords.

3. Private cloud data

When you are signed in, your private cloud backup may store:

• game progression, including completed nodes;
• hints and rewards;
• streaks and statistics;
• bonus and progression state;
• Word Hunt personal history and replay data;
• your Community player alias; and
• small technical sync metadata needed to safely merge progress across devices.

Unfinished puzzle drafts and in-progress puzzle state are not cloud-synced.

4. Local data on your device

Gameplay remains local-first. Some data stays on your device even when Cloud Backup & Sync is enabled. Unfinished puzzle state remains device-local. Signing out does not erase local progress from the current device. Deleting your cloud account also does not automatically erase local progress from that device.

5. Community Word Hunt records

Community Word Hunt records are a separate community feature and are not the same as your private Cloud Backup & Sync data.

When you choose to submit a community record, the record may include:

• your community alias if you choose the named submission option;
• the score or total achieved; and
• related puzzle metadata needed to show the record.

These records are not publicly tied to your Firebase UID or email address. Deleting Cloud Backup & Sync does not automatically delete separate public Community Word Hunt record entries. Private account data is not made publicly visible by this feature.

6. Practice and testing

Practice games never submit community records.

QA/debug sessions never submit or queue community records.

7. Offline storage

The app may cache downloaded community records locally so they can be displayed while offline.

If a player explicitly chooses to submit a new record while offline, the selected high-water total and the chosen named or anonymous submission option may be held locally and retried later.

No result is queued unless the player has explicitly chosen to submit it.

Accepted valid words from completed Word Hunt puzzles may be stored locally on the device. This allows the player to revisit a completed Word Hunt and improve their personal best. These personal word lists are not uploaded to Firebase or included in community-record submissions.

8. Account deletion

If you are signed in, you can delete your account in the app from Tools -> Cloud Backup & Sync -> Delete account & cloud backup.

This deletes the Firebase Authentication account and the private Daily Brain Board cloud backup for that account. Local progress on the current device remains. Separate public Community Word Hunt records are not automatically deleted as part of this process.

If you can no longer access the app, use the account and data deletion page.

9. Retention

A community maximum is retained until it is replaced by a higher valid total, the feature is reset, or the service is withdrawn.

Private cloud backup data is retained until you delete the account and cloud backup, or the service is withdrawn. Locally cached or pending information may remain until replaced, submitted or removed with the app's local data.

10. Third-party services

Daily Brain Board currently uses Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple for the features described above. Daily Brain Board does not use advertising in the app.

11. Children

Daily Brain Board is a general-audience puzzle game. It does not request a child-specific profile or use advertising.
